EPS pre-expander is a machine to expand eps (expanded polystyrene) raw material into big, light beads which can be used for packing or construction.

EPS pre-expander can’t work individually. The manufacturer has to prepare a steam boiler and an air compressor to work with the pre-expander together.

To expand eps, it required to use eps pre-expander. We can also call it eps foaming machine or eps beads making machine. Auxiliary machines such as steam boiler, steam accumulator, air compressors are also necessary because the expansion can’t work without steam or compressed air.

We can get different densities of eps beads from 4.5kg/m3 to 40kg/m3 according to different requirements.

The main features of eps pre-expander:

  • The machine includes pre-expander, drying bed, high-pressure feeding fan, screw conveyor, material silo and all other necessary parts.
  • It is controlled by PLC system and it has touch screen which can realize a full automatic operation of material feeding, automatic electronic calculation, automatic temperature and pressure control, automatic material level measuring, etc so that the machine can produce automatically.
  • The equipment adopts photoelectric material temperature gauge control system, and correctly grasps the bulk density of foaming material. The density of beads after foaming is uniform, and the error is less than 3% each time.
  • The temperature and steam pressure in the barrel are controlled by an advanced imported proportional valve and a high-precision pressure reducing valve to ensure that the pressure at the outlet of the pressure reducing valve is always constant, ensuring that the temperature in the barrel of the pre-expander is controlled at ±1% °C to ensure the consistency of the expanded eps material, preventing the EPS material from agglomerating due to poor temperature control.
  • The automatic pressure feeding device and the electronic weighing device are combined with the material level switch to realize automatic feeding, which improves the production efficiency, and the barrel body adopts closed foaming method so it has high thermal efficiency and save steam.
  • The electrical appliances, pneumatic components and valves used in this machine are all well-known brands at home and abroad, thus ensuring the stability and reliability of the machine operation and long service life.
  • The automatic discharge of the barrel adopts the yasso air blowing to increase the discharge speed. The computer has a memory function, which can record the number, specifications, foaming process and parameters of the eps raw material that has been used in this machine. When you need to use the raw materials of the past manufacturers, you can return to the parameters that has been stored in the process by simply pressing the touch screen.

EPS pre-expander is to make raw material into beads. The EPS beads have many usages. They can make EPS blocks by block molding machine, they can also make boxes, eps icf blocks by eps shape molding machine, they can also make lightweight wall panels by eps concrete wall panel production line. They can also be used alone to make lying bags, etc.

It is quite like the high-pressure pot that we use for cooking rice. However, this pre-expander doesn’t need water, it needs steam.

EPS pre-expander can’t work without steam or compressed air, so we have to prepare a steam boiler and an air compressor. The steam must be saturated steam with a working pressure of 0.5 to 0.8 MPa and a dynamic pressure of 0.2 to 0.3 MPa.

The compressed air working pressure should be 0.6 ~ 0.8Mpa, the air must be purified, no water, no dust; and its dynamic pressure should be 0.5 ~ 0.6Mpa.
