Venturi Tube Flow Meter, also called Classical Venturi Tube, is a Classical design differential pressure flow device.

The Venturi tube is used for the measurement of gas and fluid flow, in which there is low-pressure loss primary requirement.

LOW-PRESSURE LOSS

Venturi flow meter requires considerably shorter straight lengths in comparison to the orifice plates and nozzles. There is a very low loss in pressure on the outlet (from 4 to 20 % of the measured differential pressure) and therefore classical Venturi tube is the highly economic primary element.

MULTIPLE TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION

Multiple temperature compensation, detailed temperature characteristics modification and operation compensation for primary sensor and electronic device conducted by multiple temperature sensors, so that the temperature characteristics can be greatly improved.

What is a Venturi flow meter?

Venturi Meter is used to measure the velocity of the flow of fluids in a pipe. They consist of a short length of a pipe shaped like a vena contract, or the portion with the least cross-sectional area, which fits into a normal pipe-line. The obstruction caused to the flow of liquid at the throat of the venturi produces a local pressure drop in the region that is proportional to the rate of discharge. This phenomenon, using the Bernoullis equation, is used to calculate the rate of flow of the fluid flowing through the pipe.

How does a venturi flow meter work?

The principle behind the operation of the Venturi flowmeter is the Bernoulli effect. The Venturi measures a fluid’s flow rate by reducing the cross-sectional flow area in the flow path and generating a pressure difference. After the pressure difference is generated, the fluid is passed through a pressure recovery exit section where up to 80% of the differential pressure generated at the throat is recovered. The pressure differential follows Bernoulli’s Equation.
